To me, this looks like a music video where Taylor herself plays all the characters of the teenage love triangle

I remember the first time I had heard cardigan, I was so mesmerized with the chorus. "You put me on and said I was your favorite", I remember thinking that that line was so beautiful. Then when I truly found the meaning of all the songs, I realised that the whole line actually says "And when I felt like I was an old cardigan under someone's bed, you put me on and said I was your favorite." Meaning James was the person who made Betty feel like she was unwanted in the first place. Just when Betty thought everything was over, James made her feel loved again. And I know it's a silly thing, but I hadn't picked up on that before. My point being that everytime I listen to Taylor's music, I find something new. It's such an experience to still be excited to listen to the same song for the 34698th time in hopes of finding something new. Like the other day I found out that ivy actually symbolizes fidelity. Taylor, hats off to you, for being the greatest song writer of this generation. We love you and appreciate you, as an artist and as a human ❤☀

I love this version! It‘s so raw! Her voice seems so beautifully vulnerable in this song. Taylor really is an hard working and amazing woman with so much talent!

I love the imagery of “I knew you’d linger like a tattooed kiss.” When I see a fuckboy with a kiss tattoo on his neck, I always wonder if he’s still with the girl that it reminds him of. Anyways, this is my favorite version of cardigan. It showcases her raw talent and vocal skills in a way that is obscured in the official version. It’s also more measured than the long pond sessions, which I love. Cabin in candlelight makes me feel like I’m spinning and her voice is dancing in circles around me. Favorite song in her discography thus far. Great job Taylor!
